Updated 16 Sep 2026 · details from the official notice

01

Overview

The eligibility certificate for secondary and senior secondary teaching in Bihar.

The Bihar STET is not a recruitment. Passing it makes you eligible to be appointed as a secondary (Classes 9–10) or senior secondary (Classes 11–12) teacher in Bihar's government schools, through separate recruitment exams. The certificate is valid for life.

BSEB published the notice (Advt. P.R. 183/2026) in August 2026 with applications from 17 to 31 August. The deadline has since been extended twice, most recently to 22 September 2026.

About the 22 September deadline

The notice gives 31 August. The extensions came in later BSEB notices, reported by several news outlets. Confirm the current date on the STET application portal before you rely on it.
