Overview

One combined recruitment for junior engineers in three Rajasthan departments.

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board issued Advertisement No. 10/2026 on 15 August 2026 for 874 Junior Engineer posts, filled through one combined direct recruitment across the Public Works Department, the Water Resources Department and the Public Health Engineering Department.

Applications ran from 16 August to 14 September 2026 through the Rajasthan SSO portal. The written exam is expected in February 2027.

Apply separately for each cadre

The notice requires a separate application for each Junior Engineer cadre you want, and your department preference must be entered when you apply — allotment follows merit and that stated preference.

Eligibility

An engineering degree or diploma, and working Hindi.

  • A degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, matching the cadre you apply to.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi written in the Devanagari script.
  • Age 18 to 40, counted on 1 January 2027, with the relaxations Rajasthan rules give to SC, ST, OBC, EWS and women candidates.

The application fee was ₹600 for general and creamy-layer OBC candidates and ₹400 for SC, ST, non-creamy-layer OBC and EWS candidates.

Exam pattern

120 marks in two hours, with a 40% qualifying bar.
