Overview
Stenography posts across Uttarakhand departments and tribunals.
UKSSSC published Advertisement No. 81/2026 on 8 September 2026 for 101 Group C posts of Personal Assistant, Stenographer and Stenographer Grade-III and Grade-2 in Uttarakhand government departments, tribunals and corporations. Online applications run from 14 September to 14 October 2026.
A written objective exam decides the merit. Candidates ranked within four times the vacancies then take a typing and shorthand test, which they must pass but which adds no marks.

Vertical reservation for Uttarakhand residents is 19% SC, 4% ST, 14% OBC and 10% EWS, with horizontal reservation for women, ex-servicemen, dependants of freedom fighters, persons with disabilities, orphans, sportspersons and state agitators. Candidates who are not Uttarakhand domiciles get no reservation.

Eligibility
Most posts need Intermediate plus Hindi shorthand and typing.

Age (as on 1 July 2026)
18 to 42 years for most posts. The Judicial & Legal Academy PA and PTCUL Stenographer Grade-III posts need a minimum age of 21. Uttarakhand SC, ST and OBC candidates get 5 years' relaxation, Uttarakhand divyang candidates 10 years, and dependants of freedom fighters 5 years.
Residence condition
For these Group C posts you must meet one of three conditions: registration at an employment exchange in Uttarakhand, an Uttarakhand domicile or permanent residence certificate, or high school and intermediate passed from institutions in Uttarakhand.

₹300, halved for SC, ST, EWS and divyang candidates.

Pay online by credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. An application counts as complete only when its status shows Completed.

Exam pattern
One 100-mark offline objective paper, with negative marking.
- An offline, objective multiple-choice written exam of 100 marks in 2 hours, on the subjects of the post's qualification. The syllabus is on sssc.uk.gov.in.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for unreserved, EWS and OBC; 35% for SC and ST.
- Candidates may take the question booklet and the third copy of the OMR sheet home.
Negative marking
A quarter of a question's marks is deducted for each wrong answer. Marking more than one option, or using whitener or overwriting on the OMR sheet, also counts as wrong. Unanswered questions cost nothing.
Skill test
Candidates within four times the vacancies, by written merit, take a typing and shorthand test. It is qualifying only. The final list follows written marks; ties go to the older candidate, then alphabetical order.

How to apply
Online in five steps, with Aadhaar.
- 1Register on the UKSSSC recruitment portal with your Aadhaar number and your own mobile and email.
- 2Enter educational and other details, including any reservation category you claim.
- 3Upload your photograph, signature and left thumb impression in the sizes the advertisement gives, along with your high school certificate and both sides of your Aadhaar card.
- 4Pay the fee online by 14 October 2026.
- 5Print the application, and use the 17–19 October window for corrections.
